Wheeeeeeeeeeee!!! 😀 😀
I know, I know – Kellogg interviews everyone. Or at least they try to. (wait, is it right to end a sentence with a preposition? Huh.)
Nevertheless, I’m super happy and all over the place. I honestly thought I’d screwed up the video essay so badly that I’d receive an interview waiver and a subsequent ding. I’m glad to be getting a second chance at my dream school for the program that’s perfect for me!
I just spoke to a very nice lady at the admissions office and scheduled my interview for Nov.7th, 2014. I had a slight panic attack when she checked and told me I could do the interview on Oct. 23rd (*gasp* – too soon! TOO SOON!) at 3.30pm CST, but I kept my cool and asked her if I could do the interview during their AM. The next slot available at that time was in November, but oh well. It gives me time to prepare for the interview. And to finish my Anderson app without freaking out. Speaking of – I should be freaking out about my Anderson app coz it’s nowhere close to done. My essay is in no shape to be reviewed, much less submitted. Time to roll up my sleeves and really get to it.
Whew. 2 school apps submitted, 2 interview invites. Admit or ding – I’m happy enough for now. 🙂
Woohoo, that’s awesome! Congratulations! You did a good thing buying yourself some time, always helps to be prepared. I had no intention of applying to Kellogg (thought it was way out of my league) but when I literally just saw the MMM program they have and I’m sold. Kellogg for R2 if Duke doesn’t work out!

Yeah, the MMM is a pretty awesome program! 🙂 You should definitely apply, but I’m sure you’ll get an admit at Duke! *fingers crossed*
I saw that you were thinking of applying to Yale as well, have you submitted your app yet?

Thanks Vandana 🙂 Yes, I applied to Yale and Duke in R1 and EA respectively. Have not heard back from Yale yet though, but I’ve completely forgotten about Yale in my Duke infatuation 😀
Is your interview going to be in person with an alum or on Skype?

It’s going to be a Skype interview – which is a little surprising coz Kellogg does have good alumni presence in India. 1 week to go for Duke EA results – Good luck! When do you expect to hear from Yale?

Huh, that is strange. Perhaps its a very busy time of the year for them. Thanks! I’m waiting on pins and needles. Quite a few people have heard from Yale already, but apparently interview invites are extended upto early November so it’s just a waiting game.

Hey Vandana,
I just wanted to know, since your interview was also off-campus, did you have to call them and schedule it or did they drop you a mail letting you know that you can interview?
Congrats on getting in! 🙂

Hey @yinyang – I got an email inviting me to interview after which I had to call their office and schedule an interview.
Are you waiting to hear from Kellogg?

Hey Vandana,
Yes, I applied for R2 and I’m still waiting to hear about the interview.
I did email them and they said they’re still processing many applications. So shall wait and see. 🙂

Hello Vandana, I did my Kellogg video essays yesterday. I thought they went really bad with me rambling in the end without just ending the video. I searched for some comfort online and I found your blog. Thank you for posting this. You gave me hope that all was not lost in that 2 min after putting in weeks of hard work. Bookmarking this page.
